Terms and Conditions of Donation

1. Acceptance of Terms
By making a donation to the Gnipieven Tekombo Foundation, Taubengasse 18, 53840 Troisdorf, Germany ("the Foundation"), you ("the Donor") acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not make a donation.

2. The Donation

2.1. Payment: Donations can be made via the methods specified on our website or donation form. The Donor represents and warrants that they are authorized to use the chosen payment method. All payments are processed through secure third-party providers.
2.2. Finality of Donation: All donations are voluntary and, once made, are final and non-refundable. The Foundation is under no obligation to return any donation, except in the rare event that the Foundation, in its sole discretion, determines a refund is appropriate.

3. Tax Deductibility (Germany)

3.1. Charitable Status: The Gnipieven Tekombo Foundation is recognized as a non-profit foundation under German law.
3.2. Tax Number: The Foundation's tax number is: 220/5947/0864.
3.3. No Goods or Services: The Donor acknowledges that, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing (e.g., for a specific fundraising event), no goods or services were provided in exchange for the contribution.
3.4. Donor Responsibility: For donations of €300 (three hundred Euros) or more, a donation receipt (Zuwendungsbestätigung) will be provided upon request. It is the Donor's sole responsibility to consult with a tax advisor regarding the deductibility of the donation under German tax law, as eligibility depends on individual circumstances.

4. Use of Funds

4.1. Discretion: The Foundation has the ultimate discretion and control over the use of all donated funds. While the Foundation will endeavor to use donations for its general charitable purposes or specific campaigns, all donations become the property of the Foundation to be used in furtherance of its non-profit mission.
4.2. Designated Gifts: If a donation is designated for a specific program, the Foundation will make reasonable efforts to apply the gift accordingly. If the donation cannot be used as designated, it will be applied to a purpose as close as possible to the Donor's original intent, as determined by the Foundation's Board.

5. Donor Privacy

5.1. Privacy Policy: The Foundation respects the privacy of its donors. Our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms, governs the collection and use of Donor information.
5.2. Public Acknowledgement: Unless the Donor explicitly requests to remain anonymous at the time of donation, the Foundation may, at its discretion, publicly acknowledge the donation (e.g., in annual reports or on the website). The Donor can opt out by contacting info@gnipieven-foundation.org.

6. Limitation of Liability
The Foundation, its board members, and employees shall not be liable for any damages resulting from the Donor's donation or the use of donated funds, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability for ordinary negligence is excluded.

7. Donor Communications
By making a donation, the Donor agrees to receive communications from the Foundation. The Donor can opt out at any time by using the "unsubscribe" link in emails or by contacting us at info@gnipieven-foundation.org.

8. General Provisions

8.1. Amendments: The Foundation reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. The updated terms will be posted on our website. Continued donations after changes constitute acceptance of the new terms.
8.2. Governing Law: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.
8.3. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
8.4. Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between the Donor and the Foundation.

In August 2024, the Dr. Gnipieven Tekombo Medical Center conducted a free hypertension prevention and treatment campaign in villages south of the Cameroonian capital, Yaoundé. The goal was to raise awareness of the risks, offer blood pressure checks, and initiate immediate treatment if necessary. Only through such initiatives can we effectively minimize long-term health risks. The screening was voluntary and free of charge. The target group included men and women between 30 and 79 years of age. Hypertension poses not only a risk to the cardiovascular system but also to cognitive health.
