From 8 to 16 March 2026, the Dr Gnipieven Tekombo Medical Centre, in partnership with the CHEIRA association, organised a free reconstructive surgery campaign for underprivileged patients. This initiative marked the second campaign of its kind, following a similar successful operation carried out in December last year.
During this campaign, a total of 26 reconstructive surgeries were performed free of charge for patients who would otherwise not have had access to such specialised medical care.
A key highlight of this year’s campaign was the introduction of neuropsychiatric consultations, personally conducted by Dr Gnipieven Tekombo. For many patients suffering from neurological and psychiatric conditions, this was the first time in their lives that they were able to receive specialised consultation and medical attention.
